Type plates

Reliable identification for your machinery, equipment, assets, vehicles and more

We can manufacture type plates in any size you need, pre‑printed with the data you require. If you prefer to print your own rating plates, we can supply blank, die-cut labels or continuous roll labels.

Why use type plates?

If you work in installation engineering, machine building or the manufacturing industry, you will already be familiar with type plates, also known as rating plates or nameplates. When it comes to industrial identification, type plates are often mandatory for product identification of machinery and equipment, as well as for maintenance, servicing and serial number traceability. They are also essential for preventing errors and facilitating smooth inspections.

Which information should be included on a name plate?

The information required on a name plate is different for each industry. In general, the following details are included:

  • Serial number
  • Product code
  • Type or model number
  • Production date
  • Technical specifications (power or voltage)
  • Compliance marks or certifications (CE marking, PED certification)
  • Company logo
  • Manufacturer details
  • Safety instructions
  • QR code or barcode

Our production team specialises in custom labels. They can design and manufacture your labels to your exact specifications. You simply tell us which data, symbols, icons and logos you want printed on the labels, and they will create a design that meets your technical and operational requirements.

If you prefer to print your own rating and nameplates, you can order blank label material, which we can die‑cut to any size you need. You can also order the required material on continuous rolls, allowing you to cut the labels to size yourself.

Which label materials are suitable for rating plates?

As with any type of industrial labelling, the choice of material for rating plates depends on the application, operating conditions, required lifespan and available budget. Many of our customers opt for polyester, although vinyl is also a popular choice, particularly for long‑term outdoor use.

To ensure the material meets the requirements in your industry, you can request free samples, so that you can test the material under real-world conditions and select the most suitable option.
