Can you offer tips for label application?

After you have received the preprinted labels that suit your particular work needs, it’s imperative to ensure their long-term legibility to both the human eye and your scanning equipment. Our label experts offer some useful application tips to prolong the longevity of your labels.

  • Remove any existing labels from the surface or smooth them down before applying the new labels. Our block-out labels can be applied directly to any existing labels, because the labels’ black background ensures a complete cover-up.
  • Always make sure to apply the labels to a clean, dry surface that is free of grease and oils. That way the adhesive can attach itself to the surface more firmly.
  • Make sure newly painted surfaces have had proper time to dry to prevent lingering fumes and gases from lifting the labels off the surface.
  • After applying the label, put pressure on it so the adhesive spreads well across both the surface and the label material.
  • Take note of the surrounding temperature when applying labels. Pressure-sensitive adhesive adheres more easily to warm as opposed to cold surfaces. When the adhesive comes in contact with a warm surface, it spreads more quickly which enhances both the size of the adhesive surface and the peel strength.
  • ONE2ID advises the use of guides, such as a template or a ruler, to ensure accurate positioning of the labels.

How easy is it to design my own barcode labels?

Designing your own barcode labels could not be simpler. Our partner NiceLabel has designed several user-friendly software options to help you create labels which are tailor-made to suit your needs. Whether you are in need of 50 or 50,000 labels, or want to add barcodes, QR codes, numbers, plain text, or arrows, with NiceLabel software you get the job done quickly and easily. What are the benefits of having the labels laminated?

We add a protective laminate to 90% of all the preprinted labels we sell. This laminate protects the data on the label from long-term abuse caused by chemicals, oils, weather conditions, abrasion or mechanical abuse.

If you prefer to design and print your own labels and would also like to add a protective laminate, look no further than to our PALLabel. This so-called Print And Laminate Label is ideally suited to use as a type plate on e.g. tools, machinery, auto parts and as a track & trace device. The unique design of the label allows you to print the label containing all the information you need, such as location and barcode, and subsequently protect said information with a laminate in a matter of mere seconds. The PALLabel is available in white and silver in several standard-sized formats, but ONE2ID can also customise the labels to suit your needs.
