Label designs horizontal warehouse rack labels
Walk through any warehouse and you will notice them everywhere: horizontal warehouse rack labels. From pallet racking and shelving to vertical storage carousels such as Kardex and Paternoster, they are an essential part of your daily warehouse operations. Traditionally, yellow and white labels were used for pallet racking, but many warehouses are now switching to multi-coloured barcode labels. Our customers report higher efficiency and improved scanning accuracy, which leads to a reduction in errors and eliminates unnecessary downtime.

Level colours
When choosing multi-colour warehouse labels, we recommend using level colours as well. A multi-colour barcode label is applied to the first beam or upright to ensure quick and accurate location scanning. Each level is then marked with a corresponding level colour label. This visual colour-coding system helps operators to identify locations instantly by colour, resulting in faster order picking and fewer picking errors.
For high-bay warehouses, AS/RS systems or when working with VNA trucks, we can incorporate a barcode or QR code into the level colour label, so you can reliably scan at higher storage levels.
Label designs vertical warehouse rack labels
Logistics managers typically choose vertical warehouse labels when there is limited space for horizontal rack labels, particularly in shuttle racking systems, drive-in racking and flow racks. In some warehouse layouts, both vertical and horizontal location labels are used alongside each other, for example on conventional pallet racking with access lanes (tunnels) for reach trucks.
Label designs shelf labels
In most warehouses, order pick locations are marked with yellow or white labels, for example on shelving or in automated storage systems and vertical lifts such as Kardex units. However, we are seeing a growing number of customers applying our multi-colour labelling concept to small parts picking as well. Especially in dense storage areas with many adjacent locations, colour-coded labels improve visibility and significantly lower the risk of order picking errors.
